Vietnam Plywood Circumvention Petition

Recent news confirms that the U.S. Department of Commerce has now postponed their decision date to hear the circumvention case on Vietnamese plywood to June 2. The original petition, submitted by the Coalition for Fair Trade of Hardwood Plywood in February, requests issuance of a final scope ruling confirming that “…certain hardwood plywood products from China that are assembled in Vietnam before being imported into the U.S. are within the scope of the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on certain hardwood plywood products from China….” and ultimately are subject to trade duties. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to monitor this case.
